About Groundwork London
Our vision is of a society of sustainable communities which are vibrant, healthy, and safe, that respect the local and global environment, and where individuals and enterprises prosper. Although unfortunately, we know that this isn’t the reality for many living in London in 2025.
The Covid-19 pandemic and the steep rise in the cost of living have amplified inequalities and challenges facing individuals and communities across London, including poverty, health inequalities, and access to decent work, housing, and open spaces. We are also facing the ever-present global threat of the climate crisis. At Groundwork, we believe that a real lasting change requires a holistic approach that benefits people, places, and the planet, and for us this starts with communities.
Groundwork London commit to achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050. In the interim we commit to a 50% reduction of our net carbon emissions by 2035.
Our Impact 2020-2025
Back in 2020, before we knew what the following 2 years of the Covid-19 pandemic would bring, we set ourselves some ambitious targets to make London greener, and support Londoners in their access to nature, jobs and wellbeing
We couldn’t be prouder of our amazing teams on the ground as we are thrilled to announce we have reached and exceeded all of our six targets, including supporting over 1 million Londoners through our work in green spaces, supported employment programmes, voluntary actions, community work, as well as health and wellbeing.
