Catering Assistant - Heritage Centre

An opportunity has arisen for a team of Catering Assistants at our new Land of Oak and Iron Heritage Centre Cafe.  The centre is a community hub and tourist attraction for visitors, providing exhibitions and interpretation about the fascinating local industrial heritage.   

Catering Assistant

Salary:            £7.83/hr

Base:             Land of Oak and Iron Heritage Centre, Winlaton Mill. Gateshead

Hours:            10-25 hours per week (various shifts available, seasonal and permanent; most will involve weekend working and possibly some evenings)

The Catering Assistants will be involved with the day-to-day running of catering services, providing exceptional customer care and maintaining consistently high standards of service, hygiene and health and safety.

You will be outgoing and enthusiastic, preferably with experience of customer service in a fast paced catering environment.  You will be an excellent communicator who is open, honest and acts with integrity.  You will be flexible and willing to tackle any task or role assigned to you with a positive attitude. 

You will ideally hold a food hygiene qualification, and have a good understanding of food hygiene and Health & Safety processes.
