Background

In Our Nature is a National Lottery Climate Action funded project, designed to support people across Manchester to take climate action at home and in their communities. The project aspires to create a healthy, green and socially just city, where everyone can thrive.

Harnessing the partnerships experiences and expertise, we are working with communities across Manchester, highlighting the connections between the climate crisis and practical, local actions. Showcasing how to reduce carbon emissions, save money, and learn new skills.

What we’re doing

Groundwork will be co-delivering 19 projects in Manchester with communities, and 11 projects with social housing residents to support local people to take action for themselves and the planet. These will include:

  • 5 sustainable food projects, running for 6 weeks with 26 participants
  • 7 energy efficiency projects, including home visits, events, and follow ups with 70 local people
  • 7 green or blue projects, including parks, canals, community gardens and other public spaces, with an aim to recruit 70 local volunteers
  • 11 social housing projects with 53 tenants
