Wild About Clayton Vale
Duration: August 2026
Background
Over the past few years, we have been working in Clayton Vale, a valued natural site within the Medlock Valley, to enhance habitats and strengthen local people’s skills, confidence, and connection with nature. Building on this success, the Wild About Clayton Vale project will take this work further – boosting biodiversity, restoring habitats, and deepening people’s relationship with the natural environment.

What Groundwork are doing
Groundwork will deliver a programme of community-led nature activities and training sessions from Clayton’s Vales Rewilding Hub, supporting a range of biodiversity improvements, including:
- Enhancing woodlands
- Improving ponds
- Creating new wildflower meadows
- Managing invasive species
Groundwork Urban Rangers will demonstrate practical conservation skills in action, while our Environmental Trainer will explain the purpose of the habitat work and the wider environmental benefits it delivers.
Further information will be added to our ‘Get Involved’ page soon.
