Background

Before joining the Prince’s Trust programme, Dean was suffering from severe social anxiety. He struggled to go out, socialise and meet new people, and felt that he was living a very isolated lifestyle.

Joining the Prince’s Trust TEAM programme

Dean felt he had ‘nothing to lose’ by joining the Princes Trust Team programme in Ashton when it was recommended to him. He was worried that his anxiety would get the better of him and he wouldn’t get much from the programme, but that all changed as the weeks went by. Dean said he felt included and appreciated by everyone, which improved his confidence, allowing him to make new friends and get fully involved with the programme.

What’s next?

Dean added,

Being part of the Prince’s Trust Team at Groundwork has exceeded my expectations. I have made new friends, moved into employment and feel so much better about my future. I am enjoying life and I am happy.
