After finishing college, Josh wasn’t sure what he wanted to do with his life and felt like there were limited career options for him. After some unsuccessful interviews, Josh came across the Prince’s Trust and felt it could boost his confidence, as well as giving him a better understanding of a workplace environment.

Josh joined the Prince’s Trust TEAM Programme and achieved many things, from completing important training to volunteering at a local community garden:

“I enjoyed completing the First Aid qualification and supporting the food bank as part of our Prince’s Trust Team Challenge events, as well as completing the community garden we worked on at Falinge Park where I took on a leadership role as Project Manager and led the team.”

Thanks to Josh’s outstanding performance, he secured a work placement with our Land team, in which he completed various tasks across lots of different sites. Josh has now secured a 2 month paid placement with the team in which he’ll be planting over 8000 trees on a site in Rochdale:

I’m enjoying the work in spite of the winter weather.  My hope is to be taken on as an apprentice upon completion of my short term contract.  If this proves to be the case then hopefully I will be offered some day release at college to learn more

Josh has gone from strength to strength during his time with us, and we hope that he continues to learn and grow on his green career journey.
