“I would recommend the Groundwork Job Club to other people” – Miles’ Story
Miles* first found out about Groundwork’s Support to Succeed programme in March after his Job Centre Coach recommended the service. He started coming along to weekly Job Club sessions as he was unemployed at the time and looking for some help to get back into work and build up his confidence.
Groundwork Employment Coach, Eddie helped Miles to enhance his CV and apply for roles he was interested in. Not long after they started the job search Miles was successful at interview and appointed as a Housekeeper at David Lloyd gym, where he has now been in post for five months.

Miles has kept in touch with Eddie and although happy in his current role, Miles has expressed an interest in doing some extra security work. He previously attempted to take his SIA qualification however struggled with the written exam because of his learning difficulties. Eddie has been researching better suiting training providers as well as exploring alternative roles which don’t require this qualification, such as football steward.
Miles commented, “I would recommend the Groundwork Job Club to other people, Eddie is really helpful, and I’ve made some friends here too”
Eddie added, “It’s been great working with Miles and see him grow in confidence and direct his energy into more positive things.”
