Rose was a member of the Rangers Organisation for over 30 years, dedicating time and effort into creating a community space for all ages and abilities.

Although she acted as Treasurer with the Rangers Foundation she has fulfilled other roles, such as Secretary, events organiser, customer liaison, public relations and was also heavily involved with Sholver and Moorside Community Team and the Millennium Green Trust.

Despite dealing with health related issues, Rose showed no signs of giving up:

“I was diagnosed with kidney cancer, so I had my operation in February and I’m still recovering so I haven’t been around much this year, but I’m feeling a lot better now”

Rose had a consistent vision of managing the nature reserve, community garden and football facilities for the use of the whole local community and was constantly looking at ways to expand it.

“I’d love to get more people involved. There’s an awful lot of older people around here on their own, if we could get them down here I’m sure they would enjoy it. Nobody’s expected to do more than they can manage”
