Wallace from Rochdale had an old boiler which wasn’t working very well. As a result, he didn’t have access to instant hot water and had to boil the kettle to wash-up and bathe.

Wallace had recently been in hospital for an operation and found he was feeling the cold much more than before. He constantly felt uncomfortable in his own home and he felt his mental health was deteriorating too as he was worrying about whether the boiler would work from day to day.

The team from Groundwork visited Wallace after Rochdale Borough Council’s link workers put us in touch with him. They accessed his boiler and were pleased to inform him that he qualified for a new WIFI enabled boiler.

They arranged a date to install the boiler and to show Wallace how it worked. After the visit, Wallace commented that he found the Groundwork team polite and quick workers. He’s over the moon with the results, feeling much more comfortable in his home and glad that his mind can be at ease.
