Stakehill Industrial Estate

Businesses across Stakehill Industrial Estate in Rochdale have voted to secure a second term for the Stakehill Business Improvement District (BID). The new five-year term launched on 1 July 2026, bringing the total investment secured by the Stakehill BID Company to £1.7 million.

Through the BID, businesses continue to invest collectively in initiatives that enhance the estate, including security improvements, estate maintenance, sustainability projects, business networking opportunities and lobbying activities.

To support delivery of the BID’s second term, the Stakehill BID Board has appointed Groundwork as its managing agent. Groundwork already manages 10 successful BIDs across the North West, bringing extensive experience in supporting business communities and delivering impactful place-based programmes.

In addition to its expertise in BID management, Groundwork has decades of experience helping businesses, people and places thrive. From supporting employment and skills programmes to delivering regeneration initiatives and building strong partnerships, the organisation is committed to creating positive social, environmental and economic outcomes.

With plans to create 20,000 jobs through the Greater Manchester Mayor’s Atom Valley growth initiative, which includes Stakehill Industrial Estate, Groundwork is well placed to help local businesses benefit from emerging opportunities. This includes sharing insights into the growing green economy and delivering pre-employment training programmes that support local people, particularly those facing barriers to work, to access new employment opportunities.
