NEWS – Garden design wins award
Groundwork Greater Manchester and Richard Clark, our Senior Landscape Architect, won an award for the design of Stepping Hill Hospital’s outdoor space.
Fantastic care and dedication in local NHS services were celebrated as Stockport NHS Foundation Trust held its annual Making A Difference awards on the evening of Friday 10th October.
The event was at Stockport Town Hall, with the awards of the evening hosted by local Greatest Hits Radio presenter Andy Crane.

They recognised outstanding care and commitment in both hospital and community NHS services, and included a celebration dinner and disco for everyone shortlisted.
Staff from across local health services were among those shortlisted, as well as volunteers and members of the public involved with fundraising for Stockport NHS Charity. The awards were nominated by both fellow colleagues within Stockport’s NHS and members of the public.
Richard was there on the night to receive the award and had these words to say:
“It was great to see Stockport NHS recognise the work that Groundwork has done to help them get funding and then create a hospital garden that is making a real difference for patients”
The celebrations were funded by sponsorship from local companies and from Stockport NHS Charity.
The awards were presented by Stockport NHS Foundation Trust Chair David Wakefield and Chief Executive Karen James OBE, together with representatives of the sponsors.
