Groundwork Greater Manchester are shocked and saddened by the events that have unfolded in the North West of England followed by the rest of the UK over the last week.

We stand against racism in all its forms and will do everything we can to support the communities we serve in the wake of this difficult situation.

Reflecting on our values, we will continue to be caring, collaborative and bold in all we do, ensuring we never shy away from difficult conversations and always challenge racist behaviour.

We recognise that it is easy to feel helpless and angry in these situations so we call on our partners and supporters to boldly but peacefully speak louder than the words of hate, supporting one another and standing shoulder to shoulder for social justice at all times.

If you or someone you know has experienced a hate crime and would like to speak to someone, Victim Support can help. Call their helpline on 0808 1689 111.

If you feel unsafe or at risk at any time, please dial 999 for police support.
