NEWS – The largest VCSE Carbon Literacy training event Manchester has ever seen
Groundwork Greater Manchester’s Carbon Literacy trainers are delighted to be part of a major collaborative effort to support the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector on climate action, helping deliver what is being described as the largest Carbon Literacy training event for VCSE organisations ever held in Manchester!
Taking place on the 11th November 2026 at Manchester Metropolitan University Business School, the free training event is being delivered as part of Carbon Literacy Action Day 2026
Introducing the VCSE sector to Carbon Literacy
The course, which is free to attend on this day only, will help participants:
- Understand the science behind climate change
- Explore the impacts of climate change on people, places and communities
- Identify practical actions they and their organisations can take
- Build confidence to influence and inspire change
- Develop an action plan to support climate action within their organisation and community
Participants who successfully complete the programme and their assessed actions will receive a Carbon Literacy certificate from The Carbon Literacy Project.

This is a fantastic opportunity for VCSE organisations that are beginning their sustainability journey or looking to strengthen their environmental leadership. Places are free but capacity is limited so early booking is encouraged.
