Realising the potential of two significant countryside parks will be one of your primary focuses in this role, but your partnership development skills and support from the wider fundraising and development team at Groundwork will see you identifying opportunities to replicate successful Groundwork services in the area and innovating with partners to find new solutions that help tackle any environmental, social or economic challenges that stand in our way.

The Area Programme Manager (APM), reporting to the Operational Delivery Manager, will take the lead in ensuring the highest quality of project delivery and partnership relationship management across Hastings and surrounding areas. The APM will support the preparation and delivery of the Groundwork South Business Plan, working with Directors and Managers to ensure that its overall strategy, budgets, objectives, operational plans and outcomes are realised.

The APM is a generalist programme management role and in Hastings will lead on the co-ordination and management of a range of thematic areas, including but not limited to –

  • Green space and country park management projects
  • Employment and integration programmes

The role will involve the development, planning, delivery, monitoring and financial management of projects.  The APM will provide support and leadership to delivery staff to ensure that the projects are delivered efficiently and to a high standard.

A key part of this role moving forward will be working with participants from the Connecting Hastings and Rother Together (CHART) funded Greener Futures project (working 18.75 hours per week, equivalent to 50% of your time on the Greener Futures Programme.)

Connecting Hastings and Rother Together (CHART) Community Led Local Development (CLLD) Programme is delivering the CHART CLLD Local Development Strategy to support projects that bring a fresh approach to tackling deep-rooted problems in deprived communities within Hastings and Bexhill.  The Programme uses European Structural and Investment Funds.
