Salary: week £8.91/hour, (actual £10193.04 per annum, £17374.50 pro rata)

Hours: 22 hrs

Woodlands Outdoor Education Centre, is part of Oxfordshire Outdoors, managed by Groundwork South Trust Limited.  We provide high quality residential and outdoor education courses for schools. This is mainly term time working with some occasional non term time and weekend work. The centre is highly regarded by all of our visitors many of whom come back year after year.  You would be joining a friendly team of staff who enjoy the positive impact we have on the young people that visit us.

We require a cleaner to join our team to work Mon, Tues, Weds, Thurs and Friday, to carry out cleaning duties to an agreed standard.

Main Duties include: 

  • To undertake cleaning to all areas of the premises, working to an agreed schedule and to a high standard
  • Maintaining a safe, clean and orderly working environment at all times
  • To ensure all cleaning equipment is fit for purpose; used correctly; cleaned and properly stored after use
  • To ensure all cleaning materials and agents are used correctly, in line with manufacturer recommendations, and are correctly and safely stored after use
  • To ensure all waste is correctly disposed of and bins are cleaned after use
  • Where appropriate to undertake laundry duties as required, using the Centre facilities
  • Where appropriate ensure appropriate signage is used when undertaking cleaning tasks
  • To ensure all cleaned areas are safe for participants and staff to enter

Responsibilities

  • Undertake record keeping as directed
  • Maintain an orderly and secure storage of cleaning equipment and materials, refilling and replacing consumables as required
  • Reporting faulty equipment & other maintenance issues to the Centre Maintenance Officer
  • Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security and confidentiality, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person
  • Promote and ensure the health and safety of all visitors and centre staff at all times
  • Participate in staff appraisals and any training identified as deemed necessary to the post
  • Attend and participate in Service and Centre staff meetings, which may, on occasion, be away from the Centre
  • To liaise and work with colleagues across the Centre and Service
  • To comply and assist with the development of policies and procedures relating to safeguarding; health and safety; confidentiality and data protection
  • To undertake such duties and responsibilities as determined by the Centre Manager and /or Service Lead
