Community Enabler

As a community charity, at Groundwork South we are changing places and changing lives across the South of England, one green step at a time.

The Community Enabler is a key member of the Community and Grants team undertaking the management and delivery of a significant Community Grants programme in the Thames Valley region. Your job will be to support and encourage stakeholders and communities to access available funding through the programme. Providing advice, support and guidance to successful applicants to deliver their projects through practical assistant and planning.

Each Enabler will also develop and maintain relationships with key programme partners to assist with the promotion of the scheme, programme processes and decision-making panels. You will help to generate local PR stories and attend opening and celebration events for the groups in your target location. A passion for proactive engagement with a wide range of people, confident communication and presentation skills and an ability to manage your own time efficiently will be key.

Successful applicants will have experience of working with local community groups, a proven ability to deliver projects and local knowledge of their area.  You will plan and manage the delivery of small scale community projects, engaging with local residents and community groups as well as working in partnership voluntary organisations, local authorities, housing associations and corporate organisations to deliver improvements in areas of need.

You will be based within local Groundwork offices but have the support of a Trust Wide Co-ordinator in terms of performance management reporting.

You will also need to be flexible in terms of some out of hours working and travel to and from retail stores and community projects across your area.

You will require a full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle for which you will need to be insured for business use. Employees are able to claim back mileage rates as per our Expenses Policy.
