Marketing Officer – Northern Directions

JOB TITLE                                 Marketing Officer

REPORTS TO:                          Project Manager

SALARY:                                    Circa £22,000 per annum, pro rata

HOURS OF WORK:            20 hours per week

DURATION:                             Permanent until 31/10/2023

Groundwork aims to be the UK’s leading regeneration charity, working through partnership to create communities in which people are proud to live and work.

Northern Directions is an exciting new youth programme covering the North East Local Enterprise Partnership (NELEP) area, targeting deprived communities within Newcastle upon Tyne, North Tyneside and Northumberland funded by the European Social Fund (ESF) and the North Tyne Combined Authority (NTCA). This programme will support young NEET aged 16-24 to progress towards or into employment, training or education by providing a bespoke employability and personal development package designed around each young person’s individual circumstances.

About the role

Groundwork has an exciting opportunity within our Employment Team, where you will be responsible for the development and implementation of an engagement strategy to support the ongoing requirements of the programme.

Responsible for a range of administrative and communication-based tasks, the post holder will be required to work collaboratively with internal and external projects, ensuring achievement of business deadlines and a high level of accuracy and quality.

This role is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure endorsed by the Disclosure and Barring Service. 

A bit about you

In this role you will implement and lead the marketing strategy to support promotion of the programme to increase engagement with potential participants, external organisations and employers.  We are therefore seeking someone with strong marketing and communication skills, together with an enthusiastic and flexible approach to work.

You will have excellent customer service skills, both written and verbal and proven experience of using a wide range of information technology, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, in addition to experience of using social media, and design software.
