National Citizen Service School Coordinator
Groundwork London is a leading social and environmental regeneration charity delivering over 500 projects each year, many of which support young people to achieve their goals, amplify their voice and get involved in volunteering and social action.
From 2020, Groundwork will become the largest provider of the National Citizen Service (NCS) in London and support 4500 16 and 17-year-olds to participate. The programme brings together young people from different backgrounds and helps them develop greater confidence, self-awareness and responsibility.
NCS encourages personal and social development by working on skills like leadership, teamwork and communication. The programme includes two residential experiences together with time working in the participants local communities designing and delivering innovative social action project of their choice.
The NCS School Coordinator plays a vital role in the direct engagement and relationship management of schools, colleges, young people (15-17) and parents/guardians in London. Working towards agreed targets/KPI’s, they form part of a specialised team delivering promotional events in order to generate expressions of interests and then converting them into sign up for Summer and Autumn NCS programmes.
You will also need excellent interpersonal skills in order to create and develop Groundwork’s relationships with wider stakeholders, including the NCS Trust.
An excellent knowledge of youth programmes, particularly incorporating residential experiences and social action projects would be an advantage.
