Contract: Fixed Term Contract until March 2024 with potential to extend
Salary: £14,400 – £15,360 per annum (FTE £30,000 – £32,000)
Hours: 18 hours per week

Background to NCS ‘Open to All and Targeted’ Community Experiences

Through a Grant from NCS Trust, Groundwork South will be providing young people (aged 16-17 Years old) with year-round activities.  These will be close to home and provide choice and flexibility to engage with up to 3 x 16-Hour Community Experiences.  Each experience is designed to be fun and engaging and provide a breadth of learning and development opportunities. One of our key priorities is to increase the provision of our offer to underserved young people and learn more about what works for these groups.

Our Community Experiences aligns with the four key objectives:

  • developing life skills and supporting independent living;
  • building employability and work-readiness;
  • providing opportunities for volunteering and social action; and
  • enabling social mixing of young people from all backgrounds.

 Summary of role:

The Project Manager (NCS) is strategically and operationally a pivotal role and is responsible for establishing the programme curriculum, managing the logistics for and the operational delivery of the NCS Programmes. The role provides a leadership, line management and a coaching function to the Delivery Team, and while very much leading from the front provides exceptional motivational and operational leadership for the Delivery Team across all aspects of the planning, roll out, delivery and post-delivery evaluation of the programme.

The role oversees all matters relating to Health, Safety and Safeguarding for NCS Programmes and is responsible for efficiently responding to critical incidents and emergencies. The role provides a vital focus on customer experience and ensures young people gain a productive, safe, and exceptional educational and developmental experience whilst they are engaged on NCS programmes. The role is responsible for the oversight, direction, and the success of their Delivery Team and also for their wider ‘Team NCS’ responsibilities.

As the NCS Project Manager, you will be required to work the entire duration of one or more of the 16 Hour Community Experiences, work evening and weekends to support the delivery of NCS, this will be onsite at an agreed venue.
