View the updated designs – May 2021 Update

Camden Council is improving six green spaces in the Euston area, in order to help reduce the local impacts of HS2 construction works and loss of public open space. The green spaces are:

  • Munster Square
  • Clarence Gardens
  • Cumberland Market
  • Hope Gardens
  • Ampthill Square Estate
  • Churchway Estate

We are very pleased to let you know that the updated designs for 5 of the sites are ready to view.

We have listened to your ideas and priorities for Hope Gardens. At this stage we need to temporarily pause further design work for Hope Gardens to ensure any other local changes are linked into the landscaping works.  Further updates will follow once we have a better idea of any future changes.

The designs are based on your feedback on the sketch designs which were shared in January/February 2021. You can read the full engagement report below by clicking the button.

Previous consultations

Groundwork London and Camden Council spoke to the local community a few years ago to find out what improvements could be made to better meet the needs and aspirations of the local community.

Inspired by residents ideas and priorities, we developed concept designs, which was shared in January/February 2021. To ensure that they still met the aspirations of those who live and work in the area, we asked for feedback on specific elements and key features. Consultation from this period resulted in the updated designs shared in May 2021.

The project is funded from Assurances LBC has received from HS2 to mitigate against the loss of public open space due to construction.
