NEWS – Groundwork GM receive Carbon Literacy Platinum Award

Groundwork Greater Manchester was recognised as a Platinum Carbon Literate Organisation (CLO) at the Carbon Literate Organisation Awards, held on Wednesday 3rd June 2026 at Sister in Manchester city centre.
The event celebrated 101 organisations that achieved CLO accreditation, with just two organisations awarded the prestigious Platinum status.
Executive Director, Deborah Murray and Venetia Knight, Head of Employment & Enterprise, attended the ceremony to collect the award on behalf of the organisation.
As a charity, we’ve backed the Carbon Literacy movement since the beginning and have embedded it in the delivery of our services to Greater Manchester’s residents, and in the training and development of our staff and trustees. I am particularly proud of the innovative approaches we have honed to ensure Carbon Literacy is relevant to the individuals and groups that we support. To receive the Platinum award is a great honour and my thanks go to our fantastic team who made this happen.

Achieving Platinum status reflects Groundwork Greater Manchester’s commitment to embedding Carbon Literacy throughout the organisation and recognises the organisation’s leadership in climate education and its ongoing efforts to inspire meaningful action towards a more sustainable future.
