Creating Greener Stronger Communities

Current opportunities available with Groundwork
Transforming the Tyne
The Tyne Estuary Partnership (TEP) uses innovative Nature Based Solutions (NBS) to deliver transformative change on the Tyne Estuary. It revives the hard-engineered estuary walls/edges by installing unique structures replacing lost intertidal habitat and providing refuges for threatened wildlife. This creates a haven for nature whilst providing mitigation for industrial and climate pressures on the estuary in line with local and national biodiversity strategies.

Developing Green Community Hubs across the North of England
We’re working across the North of England to create a network of people to exchange learning, offer peer support, develop toolkits, and work together to create more Green Community Hubs.

Tackling Climate Change With Help From Northumberland Landowners And Farmers
GROUNDWORK NE & Cumbria has been awarded almost £600,000 by Natural England to pursue its Wansbeck Restoration for Climate Change (WRCC) project. It is one of only six pioneering nature projects across England to receive funding to trial ways to capture carbon and mitigate the impacts of climate change.
