Salary: £17,215

Hours: 37 hours per week

Location: South Tyneside and Newcastle

Job Role: The project officer role will be based around the recruitment and engagement of young people across programmes, with the main focus around NEETS. The post will carry a case load of young people to ensure they progress into training either within Groundwork or to external training providers. There will also be a requirement to support programmes with administration, assessment and sourcing and managing work placements. It is an important part of all programmes to ensure learners are progressing to gainful opportunities, it will be the role of the project officer to support tutors with this and ensure all learners achieve a progression destination. There will also be a requirement to support the traineeship contract, carry out learner reviews and work alongside project support workers. The project officer will work to contractual targets, as well as Groundwork and prime contractors quality standards. The project officer will also assist with other projects within the team, including Key Fund. Although this role is primarily a non-teaching role, there will at times be a requirement to undertake some support for teaching for cover.

The Project Offer will develop and implement a diverse range of activities and events which fall within the remit of the SET team. Although the role will primarily focus on working with young people, there may be requirements to work across and support elements of the adult provision.

As part of the wider Groundwork team there will be opportunities to assist in other projects relating to environmental education, health and adult and community education. You will also enjoy the freedom to work using your own initiative and fully develop your creative flair.
