Roots to Wellbeing programme - Wigan

Salary: £16,867- £20,049

Post from September 2017 until 31 August 2018

We are looking for a self-motivated, dynamic individual to work as part of our Employment and Skills Team working on the Roots to Wellbeing programme funded through Wigan Council.  The successful applicant will be responsible for engaging with unemployed individuals to help improve their health and wellbeing and long term employment prospects. This will be achieved through the delivery of a 10 week team based programme which is focused on reducing social isolation, improving confidence and getting people more active.

As the lead tutor you will be expected to recruit and deliver the programme, working closely with partner agencies and local stakeholders including Job Centre Plus to generate referrals.  You should hold a recognised teaching qualification and ideally have experience of delivering non accredited programmes along with working with agencies who support unemployed individuals, helping move them into a positive outcome. You will need excellent communication and organisational skills and the ability to work independently in a fast pace environment.

If you're an enthusiastic motivator, enjoy a challenge and would be a great role model to others, then this is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference to peoples' lives.

We are looking for individuals who are understanding, respectful and able to relate to people, yet have the ability to challenge and set boundaries in a clear and non-judgemental way.

This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check. If you'd like an informal discussion about the role please contact Vivienne Horrocks on 01942 821444.
