Invest in Youth is one of the Building Better Opportunities projects in Lancashire. It supports young people aged 15-24 who are unemployed or economically inactive (including those not in educations, employment or training (NEET) or at risk of becoming NEET) to improve their skills and employability.
This post is funded by the European Social Fund and the National Lottery, through the Big Lottery Fund as part of the Building Better Opportunities (BBO) programme for Lancashire.
The Mentor’s primary purpose will be to:
- re-engage young people into education, employment or training by providing an intensive one to one support.
- recruit and manage a caseload of individuals who are unemployed or economically inactive.
We are looking for candidates who are understanding, respectful and able to relate to young people, yet have the ability to challenge and set boundaries in a clear and non-judgemental way.
The position is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
