Upcoming Course – An Introduction to Woodland Management
Groundwork Greater Manchester will be running an Introduction to Woodland Management course for beginners on Thursday 16th November 2023.
Over the course of a full day participants will learn the theory and take part in practical activities.

Course overview:
Woodland management – theory overview: Delegates will learn about the historical development of woodland in the UK, woodland ecology, survey techniques and sustainable woodland management practices during this introductory course.
Woodland management – practical overview: Delegates will take part in a woodland walk and Bio Blitz to find and identify as many species as possible. Learning how to set up standard survey methods delegates will upload findings onto the INaturalist app and discuss databases used in woodland surveying and inventory.
The course will be held at Trafford Ecology Park, Lake Road, Manchester, M17 1TU and will last the full day (9:00 to 16:30).
This course is chargeable and will cost £250 (inc VAT) per person.
