We are the lead partner and one of the direct delivery partners for the National Lottery Community Fund’s Building Better Opportunities, D2N2 LEP, Towards Work Strand. This exciting programme aims to combat the root causes of poverty, promote social inclusion, challenge long-term unemployment and empower socially excluded people.  This project is funded by the European Social Fund and The National Lottery Community Fund.

BUILDING BETTER OPPORTUNITIES – WORK COACHES

37.5 hours per week, £25,500 per annum

Fixed Term until 31st March 2023

2 Full Time Work Coach Primarily based in Nottingham City with regular travel within the City.

1 Full Time Work Coaches Primarily based in Bassetlaw with regular travel within Nottinghamshire.

Part time and flexible working options may be considered for the successful candidates.

You will contribute to the overall success of the BBO Towards Work Programme within Nottingham City or Nottinghamshire. You will work directly with a caseload of unemployed and economically inactive participants and effectively deliver a holistic, personalised support service. You will provide a range of interventions which empower participants with the self-belief, skills, motivation and confidence to enable them to progress into employment, self-employment or further training/education. The successful candidate will facilitate a range of Employability and Personal Development Interventions, via 1:1 and group-based sessions. You will provide participants with comprehensive Needs Assessments, co-create Person Centred Action Plans to guide each participant’s individual journey, evaluate and measure their progress and impart guidance, professional knowledge and mentoring. You will play a pivotal role in helping individuals to overcome their individual barriers and supporting them through their personal journey towards work.

The successful person will have:

  • A recognised Information, Advice & Guidance (IAG) qualification (minimum of Level 3 or above), or similar.
  • Previous experience of coaching, supporting and placing unemployed/ economically inactive people with multiple & complex needs into employment, self-employment or FE/Training
  • Previous experience of effective case management of disadvantaged participants, including the delivery of 1:1’s, IAG, diagnostics, action planning, reviewing progress and implementing appropriate Employability & Job search techniques
  • Ability to negotiate and agree ‘SMART’ objectives with participants, experienced in giving constructive feedback and able to positively transform negative behaviours
  • Previous experience of partnership working, and the recruitment of participants to funded programmes.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Local Labour Market, Sector Skills Gaps, local Employment & Skills provision, Specialist Support Networks, and Education & Training providers
  • An advanced level of computer literacy
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Previous experience of delivering grant funded activities and working within funders’ compliance frameworks
