Wellbeing Coach

Location: Across schools in the London Borough of Southwark as required and at The Nest’s hub in Peckham

Contract: 12 months Fixed Term

Salary: £28,000

Hours: 37.5 hours per week for full-time posts

Groundwork London is a community charity with a green heart that has been at the forefront of social and environmental regeneration in London for over 20 years. Each year we deliver hundreds of innovative environmental and social action projects across the capital. Our projects change places and lives for the better in some of London’s most deprived and disadvantaged neighbourhoods. This includes working with communities to make their neighbourhoods greener and more resilient to climate change, supporting long-term unemployed individuals to find work, helping young people get back into education and training and advising residents how to save money on their energy and water needs.

The Nest is Groundwork London’s mental wellbeing support service for young people aged 11 – 25 and living in the London Borough of Southwark. Since launching as a remote service in May of 2020, right in the middle of the Covid-19 Pandemic, The Nest has gone from strength to strength and we are looking for passionate, experienced, skilled and driven individuals to join the team as we get ready to increase its mental health provision for schools.

The Wellbeing Coach will be a qualified therapist and have knowledge and experience of delivering evidence-based interventions in 1:2:1 and group settings, as well as an understanding of the barriers and challenges that children, young people and their families can face when seeking mental wellbeing support. You will have to have the ability to engage and work with a range of young people with multiple support needs.

Most important of all will be your approach: we’re an exciting, fast-paced and ever-growing service at the forefront of early intervention mental health support for young people in Southwark, so we’re looking for people with the ambition and commitment to match our own.
