Micro Grants Awarded
Micro Grants aim to fund pilot projects or the continuous development of small existing projects. The purpose of this strand is to help organisations to continue delivering, or start to deliver, local focused projects that aim to prevent/respond to health inequalities in Greenwich. This may be pilot projects or the continuous development of small existing projects. We are particularly interested in receiving applications that demonstrate innovation and learning from previous delivery.
The work funded on this programme aligns with the Greenwich Health and Wellbeing Strategy, which sets out the mental and physical health and wellbeing priorities for the next five years in the borough. More information can be found here.

All unsuccessful applications are given bespoke feedback and offered a follow up support call. All applicants are also asked to submit feedback on the application process to help improve and develop the process for future rounds.
Round 1 Recipients
Applications are assessed and awards made on a regular basis. As of September 2025, we have received 26 applications, of which 13 have been funded, totalling £57,962.59.
Equal Play Sports – Expansion of inclusive sports and education access for SEN youth: Organisation aims to reduce health inequalities in Greenwich by creating equal access to sport and education for all young people, especially those with special educational needs (SEN). Funding to expand inclusive sports and education programme which increases access and participation for children with special educational needs and those disproportionately affected by health inequalities. Greenwich Homeless Project – Pottery classes: Organisation provides year-round support to people experiencing homelessness in Greenwich through both emergency winter night shelters and a daytime drop-in centre. Funding to continue clay workshops as a therapeutic and creative outlet for the guests of Greenwich Homeless Project. Through structured weekly sessions, participants will learn basic pottery techniques, from hand-building to glazing, creating unique pieces they can take pride in. Kaweyan International CIC – Afghan Women’s Empowerment Project: Organisation aims to enable migrants, refugees and displaced people in the UK to look ahead and move beyond government support services and programs, through economic empowerment and entrepreneurship interventions. Funding for a pilot project supporting Afghan refugee and migrant women through women-only sessions focused on wellbeing, enterprise, and confidence-building. Creative Pulse – Pilot dance in weekly sessions and holiday project: Organisation provides free instrumental music lessons, band and writing club for children aged 9-16yrs from Woolwich and surrounding areas. Funding for pilot project to introduce dance into organisation’s summer holiday project and weekly sessions. Sessions will benefit existing 20 members, but will also be open to new members. Kidbrooke Games Club CIC – Kidbrooke Games and Health City Lab: Organisation runs free weekly board games sessions for families in Greenwich. These sessions aim to provide a safe, enjoyable, and inclusive space for families to connect, build relationships, fight isolation and engage with their local community. Funding to scale up their existing project – a regular games club for local children and families who have expressed the need for safe, inclusive, and engaging spaces that support their mental and physical wellbeing. S.H.E. Together CIC – Pilot Zen Harmony Movement session with Health topics: Organisation offers barrier free communication, accessible venues and welcoming environment and run projects for women from Asian backgrounds. Funding for pilot project for adults over 50 from Chinese Mainland and Hong Kong communities living in Greenwich. The Engaged Mindfulness Initiative Ltd – Mindfulness workshops and course for underserved communities in Greenwich: Organisation is a community-rooted non-profit offering accessible, trauma-sensitive mindfulness programs that foster mental wellbeing and reduce health inequalities. Funding for mindfulness-based pilot project for adults in Greenwich who are at risk of poor mental health, chronic stress, and social isolation. Ndukauba Limited – Fund ongoing Jollof Nights sessions: Organisation aims to enhance people’s lives through initiatives that promote health, well-being, and community spirit. Funding to sustain Jollof Nights health equity model through four sessions hosted across four barbershops in Greenwich. These culturally grounded, men-only spaces promote mental health, emotional well-being, and early intervention through community conversation, trusted peer facilitation, and health screenings. A Truefitt Collective Dance Theatre – Pilot creative wellbeing project: Organisation uses Dance, Mindfulness & Expressive Arts to support children’s mental health and wellbeing. Funding for “Little Me, Being Free”, a pilot creative well-being project supporting two Primary Schools in Greenwich. Through dance, expressive arts, and mindfulness techniques, the project will build on emotional literacy, confidence, and resilience in Early Years and KS1 children. Greenwich Vietnam Women – Mental/physical well-being workshops and luncheon club: Organisation aims to improve the health, well-being, and community integration of older Vietnamese women in Greenwich through accessible, culturally sensitive health education, screenings, and social programs. Funding for weekly meetings at Woolwich Common Community Centre, and covers hall and kitchen rental, alongside employing a support worker/administrator/facilitator, a translator, and a fundraiser. The Feel Good – Keep Moving CIC – Chair-Based Exercise sessions: Organisation delivers fun, music-based Chair-Based Exercise sessions for those facing inactivity, isolation, or reduced mobility in Greenwich. Funding to continue their Chair-Based Exercise project that supports older adults, adults living with disabilities, and people with long-term health conditions or limited mobility. Brighter Futures Foundation CIC – Pilot Hula Hoop 4 All Exercise programme: Organisation aims to help vulnerable young people from disadvantaged and diverse backgrounds access employment, while also improving their mental health, resilience, and sense of self-worth. Funding for hula-hooping project in Thamesmead, providing a programme of weekly hula hooping training and fitness. ABKARA Women’s Group CIC – Women’s health and wellbeing workshops & pilates: Organisation supports diaspora and ethnic minority women, particularly Bengali women in Greenwich, to overcome health inequalities. They create safe, inclusive spaces where women can engage in culturally relevant health conversations, access preventative care information, and build peer support networks. Funding for 12-week programme of yoga sessions for Bengali women in Greenwich. The project supports women who face social isolation, language barriers, and limited access to health services. Olive Collective CIC – Pilot menopause movement, education and wellbeing programme: Organisation aims toeducate, share, empower & support women going through hormone flux, creating a space to find their voice with expert advice. Funding to deliver a pilot Menopause Movement, Education & Wellbeing event. This five-day programme combines walks, inclusive movement, expert talks, creative workshops, and visual storytelling to support midlife women navigating hormone changes from perimenopause through post-menopause. Firepit Art Gallery and Studios CIC – Culturally-rooted workshop programme nurturing creative health:Organisation is an art gallery that aims to create a programme of classes, workshops and events, to help support the marginalized and under represented parts of their community. Funding for a pilot programme of pay-what-you-can creative workshops and supported volunteer roles, designed to improve mental health and wellbeing for LGBTQIA+, Global Majority, and Neurodiverse residents of Greenwich. The Empowerment Group – Culturally competent therapy: Organisation supports people of Black African and Caribbean heritage facing mental health challenges. This is achieved through free online 1:1 culturally appropriate therapy. Funding for culturally appropriate, one-to-one therapy free of charge to this group in Greenwich. Bexley, Greenwich and Dartford HE CIC – Continuation of Boxing classes for home educated young people: Organisation provides home-educated young people with the opportunity to access physical education and socialising opportunities, to improve their physical and mental health. Funding for martial arts club, in partnership with Power Mobile Gym, at Woolwich Common Community Centre, offering home educated young people aged 11–16, the opportunity to participate in structured physical activity for six months. The Makers Nook UK C.I.C – Supporting creativity and wellbeing in children and their parents/carers: Organisation offers creative services to the community, including regular Meet ‘N’ Makes in Thamesmead, where people of all ages can connect, learn new skills, and discover the therapeutic joy of making. Funding to continue “Mini Makers” sessions – free, inclusive creative play workshops for children under 5 and their parents or carers.
