Adopt an Oyster
Give a home to one of our 4,000 crocheted oysters

As part of the Wild Oyster Project, over 4,000 crocheted oysters are being lovingly handmade by volunteers across the region. Each one is unique, different colours, patterns, and personalities, just like the real oysters we’re restoring to the North Sea.
We want to say a huge thank you to every volunteer who picked up their crochet hook and contributed their time and creativity. Your work has brought this project to life in such a special way.
Now, these crocheted oysters are looking for a home.
By adopting one, you’ll:
- Receive an adoption certificate
- Name your oyster and give it an identity.
- Provide it with a home (in your family, community, or organisation).
- Receive updates on the overall Wild Oyster Project via email.
Join the waitlist today
Our crocheted oysters are still being created, and there is currently a waitlist for adoption. By signing up now, you’ll be the first to know when oysters are ready for their new homes.
Thank you for your interest in adopting an oyster, together we can bring back this vital species and create a healthier future for our coasts.
