Visit Minera

The lead mines offer a fascinating glimpse into the industrial past of the beautiful Clywedog Valley and visitors can explore the country park seeing remains of the lead processing areas from the 18th and 19th centuries, the restored beam engine house, winding engine and boiler houses. There is also a visitor centre that tells the story of the site plus a country park covering 53 acres of grassland, wooded areas and archaeological sites.

Supported through the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) and working in partnership with Wrexham County Borough Council we received a grant to develop, try out and test sustainable ways to manage the Minera Lead Mines Visitor Centre so that it can open to the public all year round.
The programme will also provide opportunities for people to say what they would like to see at the site in the future and how that can be provided sustainably.

The visitor centre and toilet facilities are now open daily ( 10 am – 4 pm) for the School Holidays 2019 and at Weekends only at other times (10 am -4 pm ). To keep up to date with all events and activities see our Facebook page
