How to Fundraise

Step 1 – Make a plan

First you need to decide how you want to raise money. There are endless possibilities! You can participate in an existing event (such as a half marathon) or organise your own. If you need a little inspiration, download our resource pack for ideas and more information.

You may also want to set yourself a fundraising target. This can be a good motivator for your potential donors.

Step 2 – Set-up a fundraising page

Next you will need to set up your fundraising page to collect donations. You will then be able to set up a fundraising page that is specific to your event. If you haven’t got a JustGiving account already this process will require you do so.

The more information you include on your fundraising page the better! Customise it with photos and a personal message explaining why you are raising funds for Groundwork. You should also include any events details such as date and time if relevant.

Step 3 – Share your event/fundraising page

Getting people involved and donating is vital to creating a successful fundraiser! Our resource pack below has many tips and tricks for how you can share your fundraiser and reach your fundraising targets.

Step 4 – Track your progress

You will be able to monitor your fundraising totals on your fundraising page.

Step 5 – Report back to your donors

Once your fundraising campaign is complete, report back to your donors on the impact their contributions have made. Share stories and photos of your fundraising, as well as of the impact you have made if possible. We love to see all of your achievements and wonderful support so make sure you tag us in your social media posts.
