Northern Futures Trailblazer Launches, Offering Tailored Support to Young Adults with Health Barriers in the North East

The innovative Northern Futures Trailblazer programme is now accepting applications across the North East, offering comprehensive support for young people facing barriers to employment. This groundbreaking initiative provides tailored pathways into work or training for eligible 18-24 year olds in the region.
Funded by the Economically Inactive Health Trailblazer, for Young People through the North East Combined Authority (NECA) until March 2026, the programme addresses the specific needs of economically inactive young people managing physical or mental health conditions in the UK.
“Working on Northern Futures has been an incredibly rewarding experience. We get to see the young people we support grow in confidence and believe in themselves, and with the guidance of our amazing Employment Coaches, those changes really shine through. Watching them take on opportunities they might never have imagined before is truly inspiring, and it reminds us why this work matters so much.” – Project Manager
