Northern Directions will provide opportunities for young NEET participants aged 16-24 to progress towards or into the labour market sustainably. The area of focus will be in Newcastle Upon Tyne, North Tyneside, and Northumberland.

Northern Directions will be providing dedicated support from start to finish by assigning Youth Workers to curate a package plan uniquely for each participant. The package will go beyond coaching and mentoring, but also provide interventions on debt management, benefits, health and well-being, and housing.

The steps of the Northern Directions package will include five main portions to ensure holistic and continual growth for the participants.

  1. Mutual Engagement
  2. Progressive Assessment and Personalisation
  3. Access to Course Learning and Development
  4. Employer Engagement and Training
  5. Progression and Sustainment

Northern Directions aims to specifically assist and coach individuals who have pre-existing barriers and challenges overcome these challenges all while feeling empowered to get on an employment path for their futures.

We are working closely with partners and agencies to ensure that every barrier and challenge can be met and assessed for all participants to truly create a pathway for success.
