Welcome to Unity Brew – Tipton’s New Community Café
Unity Brew is a warm, welcoming community café in the heart of Tipton, created by Groundwork West Midlands to bring people together, support healthier lifestyles, and offer opportunities for local residents.
Designed as a relaxed hub for the community, Unity Brew provides affordable, nutritious meals, a friendly space to connect, and a programme of events, workshops, and wellbeing activities. The café also features a free community bookshelf—filled with donated books from the National Literacy Trust—to encourage reading and support mental wellbeing.
At Unity Brew, sustainability sits at the centre of everything we do, from reducing food waste and using surplus ingredients to linking with local gardening and environmental projects. The café also offers volunteering, skills-building placements, and opportunities for individuals to gain confidence and experience.
As a social enterprise, Unity Brew reinvests its profits back into the community, including through our ‘Pay It Forward’ scheme, helping ensure everyone has access to nutritious food in a supportive environment.

Unity Brew Community Café Spreads Winter Warmth
At Groundwork West Midlands, we are committed to supporting our community throughout the year. This winter, Unity Brew community café has been helping local residents stay warm and cared for through our seasonal Winter Warm Packs. These packs, which include gloves, scarves, hot water bottles, and other essentials, provide practical support and a reminder that community care is always in season.
Regular visitors, including June and Mariaid, were touched by the gesture, highlighting the importance of creating a welcoming and supportive space for all. At Unity Brew, we are proud to combine our commitment to wellbeing, connection, and inclusion — ensuring that no one in our community is left out in the cold.

Unity Brew Welcomes Regeneration Boost for Tipton
As major regeneration work begins on Union Street to deliver 55 new affordable homes for local residents, Unity Brew is proud to stand at the heart of a town centre preparing for positive change. The development, led by Sandwell Council and Torsion Construction Ltd, marks a significant investment in Tipton’s future — improving public spaces, creating new opportunities, and bringing more families into the community.
With more people set to live, work and connect in the area, Unity Brew’s role as a community café becomes more important than ever. The café already offers a warm, welcoming space for residents, supporting wellbeing, reducing isolation, and providing access to Groundwork West Midlands programmes. As the town grows, Unity Brew looks forward to supporting new and existing neighbours alike, offering a place to meet, relax, and take part in community life.

I love coming to the Café.
I come out of the house more now I have somewhere to go so am walking more.
I love the roast dinners. It’s so nice to have a good cooked dinner and if I don’t fancy it at lunch I take one home for later.
