Mark’s Story

Mark joined our Town Farm Allotments around 6 months ago now, he had tried many other volunteer opportunities but none really suited what Mark was looking for.

Mark very quickly settled in and It soon became apparent that Mark had some fantastic skills to showcase on this project. Mark quickly went from a client on the project to a Groundwork Volunteer ,often spending three days per week volunteering with the project lead. Not only that, but Mark won Volunteer of the Year at GNECs staff awards which he was over the moon about.

The project has given Mark meaning , allowed him to showcase his skills , meet new people and enjoy being outdoors. Mark is part of the furniture now and we wouldn’t want it any other way, we really appreciate what he has brought to the project.
