Team-building with a community focus

Whether you’re looking for a one day corporate volunteering session or a longer-term programme of employee action days, we’re confident we can offer your staff a unique and fun volunteering experience. They’ll learn new skills, gain a great sense of achievement and strengthen team relations, while directly supporting local communities in Yorkshire.

We will help you every step of the way to plan and run your CSR day. We have various sites to choose from, suitable for different group sizes and with tasks to be completed in all weathers. A team volunteering day is usually 10.00 – 15.30, with lunch and refreshment breaks built into the schedule. We supply all the tools PPE and any other measures required to safeguard your employees’ welfare and will always have qualified first aiders on site. Most sites accommodate between 20 – 50 people. CSR days take place all year round and will go ahead in most weathers.

What Will Your Employees Be Doing?

We work with a wide range of groups and communities in Yorkshire. If you have a specific area or interest, we’ll do our best to find the right fit for you. We always select projects that need the extra help so you can be sure you’ll have a lasting impact on the lives of people in Yorkshire!

Where Will The Employee Volunteering Yorkshire Take Place?

Usually, you’ll be outside, although we do have a number of indoor activities too. We work hard to find projects that are most in need of support, and this can take time but we’ll usually be able to offer you a number of options, based on your requirements. The locations of our projects vary, you could be based at a community farm, school, park, urban woodland, nature reserve, or housing estate.

Do Your Employees Need Any Special Skills Or Knowledge?

No previous skills, knowledge, or experience are required, you can just turn up and get stuck in. Rest assured our experts will guide you safely in learning new skills or using specific equipment throughout the day. On the day, volunteers are usually split into teams who work on different tasks, often rotating tasks over the course of the day. Your employees might learn about habitat management, biodiversity, horticulture, landscaping, upcycling, food growing, carpentry, painting, or a number of these in one day. We can differentiate for varying ability levels within teams.

Centrica’s British Gas leadership team spent a brilliant day with Groundwork Yorkshire, riding along with the Green Doctors and learning about the invaluable support given to those most at risk of fuel poverty. A truly insightful day and opportunity to get creative and explore ways to work together to help those most in need.
