Tameside Age UK garden

Our landscape designers create outdoor spaces at hospitals and other healthcare grounds which consider patient needs and play an essential part in the road to good health.

Background

The health & wellbeing benefits of nature are well researched and documented. We know that outdoor spaces help our mental and physical wellbeing, whilst simultaneously improving our conditions for good health, with oxygen rich plants tackling air pollution.

Examples of our work

Designing for dementia

Applying principles obtained through the internationally recognised Dementia Services Development Centre at the University of Stirling, our landscape designers create tailored landscaping solutions for those living with dementia.

Our designers understand the unique requirements of dementia sufferers and as such design spaces in consultation with the Client and site users, considering such things as access, aspect, signage, how the garden will be used, sensory planting, and seating arrangements. When and where to use or avoid the use of strong contrasts in  colours between materials.

Our innovative landscape design create spaces that unlock benefits for both carers and clients that can reduces some of the anxiety associated with dementia; improving sleep patterns and reducing recovery time after bone damage or other illness.

Environmental considerations

We encourage all of our clients to consider integrating environmental principles, such as those listed below, into their designs. These are topics which we feel are important to consider in order to tackle the climate and nature emergencies.
