Kickstarters

Groundwork West Midlands proudly delivered a successful Kickstarter programme – a temporary employment programme that was funded by the government to help young people off Universal Credit and into work.
This scheme was open to people up to the age of 24, with Kickstart placements at Groundwork West Midlands and across Groundwork UK, and has helped trainees into careers that protect the environment, tackle climate change, and supported local communities.
Participants were paid a real wage, gained valuable experience and were given all the training and support needed to succeed.
At Groundwork West Midlands we are delighted to announce that a member of the Kickstarter project is now a full time members of our team, meet Jack:

Meet Jack
Jack started working as a Green Team Trainee, mainly at Silverdale Country Park, helping with the land management and supporting volunteers. He worked very hard, supporting the team in lots of different ways. Towards the end of his time as a Kickstarter, a full time role opened up on the Green Doctors project, and we were delighted when he was appointed.
