Greener Futures

Greener Futures is a ‘Connecting Hastings and Rother Together’ (CHART) Community Led Local Development (CLLD) programme which has been awarded £195,799.67 from European Structural and Investments Funds.

We know that spending time outdoors is really good for our health and makes us feel good

Greener Futures offers residents* the opportunity to get involved in some great open space improvement projects in green spaces around Hastings and St Leonards. These spaces include roadside and seaside verges and local parks, in addition to  Hastings Country Park Nature Reserve and Combe Valley Countryside Park.

Due to COVID restrictions we are currently offering online training in horticulture and employment support, along with online discussion and wellbeing sessions – you can take part in training and activities from the safety and comfort of your home.

In the springtime (2021) we plan to resume our Covid-safe outdoor activities. You’ll be able to get outside, improve your health and wellbeing, meet new people and learn about horticulture and practical conservation.

If you are interested in looking for paid employment you can also have access to 1-2-1 support, career advice, horticulture skills training and introductions to local employers to help you get to help you get into work.
