Iver Environment Centre is a 4.5 acre oasis located in the Colne Valley between Uxbridge and Slough. We established the centre in 1990 in partnership with the National Grid to champion environmental education in the region. Over the past three decades, thanks to the invaluable support of local businesses and hundreds of dedicated volunteers, the space has blossomed into a thriving outdoor classroom boasting a number different habitats, gardens and activity zones including our rainforest zone, orchard, woodlands, raised ponds, beehives and community allotments. We also have three indoor classrooms and a large kitchen in our purpose built log cabin.
Environmental Education
We also run a packed programme of fun and educational holiday activities for children and families, including pond dipping, mini-beast hunts, woodland survival, den building and crafts. The possibilities are endless.
“Iver Environment Centre is a lovely place to spend an hour or two with your little ones. We went during Halloween week and they had different activities organised for each day. It was a crisp, sunny autumn day, perfect to explore the grounds and follow the trails and clues for the hunt we were on. Good access for pushchairs and wheelchairs. Clearly equipped for small groups of school children or for children’s parties. The staff member there was very friendly and helpful.”
