SOUTH & NORTH TYNESIDE

Groundwork is a federation of charities mobilising practical community action on poverty and the environment across the UK.
We’re passionate about creating a future where every neighbourhood is vibrant and green, every community is strong and able to shape its own destiny and no-one is held back by their background or circumstances.
We believe the most powerful transformations begin at a local level and work closely with residents, volunteers and regional and national partners, to drive impactful and sustainable economic, environmental and emotional change from the heart of the community.
We work across South and North Tyneside to deliver positive environmental change and support personal growth and development.
We provide accredited learning for post 16 SEN learners at our established, Ofsted rated ‘Good’, Route2Work College, and deliver schools and family activities from West Boldon Lodge.
We invest in local heritage and culture at Jarrow Hall, a local historic attraction and home to a living Anglo-Saxon Farm, Village and Bede Museum.
We offer respite support for Young Carers living in South Tyneside, through our partnership with TEN North East.
And we power the local circular economy via The Groundwork Shop, and the pre-loved store at Marsden Road Community Centre

We had such a great time… Can’t wait to come back again.
