Inspire and Engage

Support your local community

Community action refers to the collective efforts of individuals or groups to address social, economic, or environmental issues that affect their communities. It can take various forms, such as organising, advocacy, service, education, or research and aims to empower communities to participate in decision-making processes, improve their quality of life, and promote social justice.

If you are looking for ways to take action and support your local community – we can help you to get on the right path.

Volunteer

Make a positive difference

Volunteering is extremely valuable as it can benefit the community or the cause that you care about, by donating your time, skills, and energy, to make a positive difference in the lives of others.

Learn new skills and meet new people

Volunteering also offers benefit to the volunteer themselves as it can provide opportunities to learn new skills, meet new people, and gain valuable experience, whilst boosting self-esteem, confidence, and happiness.

Foster civic responsibility and social awareness

Volunteering can foster a sense of civic responsibility and social awareness and can help to understand the issues and challenges that affect people and the natural environment.

Inspire and engage people

Volunteering can inspire people to become more engaged and active in their community, providing opportunities to the individual and delivering wide reaching positive impact on the environment and the local community.

Fundraise

As a charity, we recognise the vital role fundraisers hold within our organisation and within the community supporting causes they feel most passionate about.

Fundraisers use different methods and strategies to achieve their desired goal, some methods include; online campaigns, events, grants, sponsorships and partnerships. Starting a fundraising campaign requires careful planning, communication and evaluation methods to ensure that the goals and objectives of the cause are met, and that the donors’ expectations and interests are satisfied.

The Code of Fundraising Practice sets the standards that apply to fundraising carried out by all charitable institutions and third party fundraisers in the UK. Read the Fundraising Standards Code before undertaking any fundraising activities. To find out more about Fundraising for a charity or cause, visit the Fundraising Regulator website.
